The first meeting of the XIV edition of the Euro has taken place today, June 8, 2012, at 18:00, after the opening ceremony at the Municipal Stadium in Warsaw, between the national teams of Poland and Greece.
The result of the encounter between Polish, and Greek was a tie (1-1).
The Polish team, host of the Championship with Ukraine, could not pass the draw with Greece despite having had the advantage of the pitch with a player that his opponent much of the game.
In first goal was scored by the player Polish Lewandowski on 17 minutes.
The draw (1-1) came during the second half of the game (min. 51) of the Greek player Salpingidis boots.
The Greeks were able early lead when Karagounis had scored a penalty to the Polish goal Tyton, for within the area derive Salpingidis by Szczesny.

Upon completion of the two games for the first day of the Championship, both featuring the teams in Group A, Russia leads the standings with 3 points, with 1 point are Greece and Poland and the Czech Republic 0 points.
